Join us for a night exploring podcasting and hear how Olivia's love for history, writing and fascinating women led to this very successful podcast.
PLUS, for all you writers and producers out there, this podcast is FULL of amazing stories that could make a great movie!
What’sHerName women’s history podcast is hosted and produced by academic sisters Dr. Katie Nelson and Olivia Meikle. What’sHerName puts the women back into World History, telling the stories of fascinating women you’ve never heard of (but should have). We interview expert historians, writers, and scholars, and weave a vivid story. Raised by musicians, we’re compelled to add a musical element, too, adding era-appropriate music to bring each tale to life.
The result is fascinating and funny, thought-provoking and academically sound, without any jargon, snobbery, or boringness.
Olivia Meikle teaches Women’s & Gender Studies at Naropa University. With Katie, she’s the coauthor of The Book of Sisters, plus A Stinky History of Toilets and A History of the World in 80 Lost Women. She’s also the creator of Around the World in 80 Diapers, a website empowering parents to travel internationally with their kids. She has an MA in English Literature and Women’s & Gender Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
