AUDITION NOTICE: AUGUST 26TH 2018
Auditions for The WIFMCO/Athena Project Media Mashup production of “The
Goblin’s Giggle” will be held Sun, Aug 26th at Goosetail coworking space
next to the Alamo Drafthouse Sloan’s Lake. Auditions are by invitation
only, so please send headshots and resumes, or links to both, to
firstname.lastname@example.org by Aug 12. We need:
JENNIFER – female – 30s – Recently divorced professional, not handling
her divorce well.
VERONICA – female – 50s – 60s – Jennifer’s mom. Classy, witty. Not so
recently divorced and full of advice.
ANGELA – female – 30s – 60s – family friend – A hip nun who’s there for
FRIK, TIK, and GEORGE – male – all ages – 3 trolls who like to kidnap
brides. George is particularly creepy. These roles require the actor to
wear prosthetic makeup.
All races will be considered for all roles. Roles will be physically
demanding and will require some running through rough terrain and
splashing through shallow water.
Filming will take place in SE Aurora Sep 7 – 9 (Fri is evening only).
Pay is $100/ role (total). The production is non-union.
You will also be auditioning for a podcast and a 10-min play at the same
time, as we are hoping to cast most of the actors in all three
productions. Performance of the play, screening of the film and the
presentation of the podcast will take place at a TedX Mile High
Adventure Series production the evening of Nov 29th or 30th. Rehearsals
for the play and recording of the podcast will be scheduled according to
availability, so please bring your list of conflicts through Nov 30th.
You will also be expected to participate in an audience talk-back at the
TedX event to discuss your experiences working in the different media.
Some crew positions are also still available, especially for those
wanting to be mentored, as this production is designed to be an on-set
learning experience for everyone involved. Please send resume and a
letter stating the position you want to fill or be mentored in to
email@example.com. Among others, we are looking for a director’s
apprentice, sfx make-up (both mentor and apprentice), location sound and
sound design (both), grips, and PAs. We are in talks with a
cinematographer, but still taking applications in case that doesn’t work
out. The project will be partially funded through a grant, but keep an
eye out for an upcoming Seed & Spark campaign to help us fill in the
gaps not covered by the grant. Dept. head positions are paid, not your
normal day rate, but something. Keep in mind that we are a small
non-profit organization, and this is an opportunity to mentor the next
generation of filmmakers and elevate the work coming out of Colorado.
